Blessed life
(Genesis 1:26-28)
Who are we? We are created in accordance with God’s image and formed as the lords of all creation. Thus, we are noble beings and blessed children of God. Therefore, we are to put off our old appearance as slaves of sin and despair and live a life manifesting God’s glory and worthy of our transformed status. Then, we can enjoy the blessings poured out by our God.
1. Men created in accordance with God’s image
We are spiritual beings created in the image of God, the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:27). Unlike the animals destined to die and be buried, men’s spirits head for either heaven or hell after their bodies are buried in the ground. Those who accepted Jesus are to enjoy everlasting life in heaven, whereas those who did not know Jesus cannot escape the punishment of hell. Therefore, we are to offer thanks and praise to God, who ordained us as citizens of heaven, and make our lives manifesting God’s glory (Judges 43:7?21).
2. Men formed as the lord of all creation
God made men and women the lords of all creation and gave them the authority to rule over everything in this universe (Genesis 1:28). Therefore, we are to live not as the slaves of the world but as the lords of this world. Even when the tide of tribulation from the world comes in, we square our shoulders, stand firm by faith in God, and overcome all difficulties. And I hope you will expect the great blessings God has prepared for us (Deuteronomy 28:12?13). Let’s look forward to a blessed tomorrow and go forth.
3. Life approved by God
As God made us in His image to be the lords of all creation, we must live a life approved by God (Genesis 1:31). It is of little importance how others see us. It is of primary importance to live a life approved by God through our actions and words pleasing to God. The Bible describes that Enock indeed pleased God (Hebrew 11:5). I pray that all of you will be like Enock, a man of God pleasing to Him and approved by Him, and make your life prosperous.
