Turn your Hearts toward the Lord
(1Kings 8:58-60)
Today is Reformation Sunday, a day we remember when Martin Luther, a German priest, on October 31, 1517, stood against the corruption of the Roman Catholic Church by nailing his 95 Theses to the door of the Wittenberg Castle Church. This action ignited a widespread Reformation movement. The church on earth must always be in a process of continual reformation, seeking to reflect the image that the Lord desires. However, true reformation must first take place within our own hearts.

1. Turn your Hearts toward the Lord
The many problems in this world stem from the human heart. Sin, sickness, and death entered the world because Adam and Eve failed to guard their hearts and fell into sin. Therefore, Scripture instructs us to guard our hearts above all else (Proverbs 4:23). True reformation begins when we turn away from twisted, negative, corrupt, and evil hearts and direct our hearts toward God (1 Kings 8:58). Those who are filled with the Holy Spirit and experience transformation of the heart can live a life that is good and pleasing to God (Romans 12:12).

2. Walk in God’s ways
In life, there are two distinct paths. One is the way of the righteous, the path of blessing, approved by God. The other is the way of the wicked, which leads to inevitable judgment. We are called to reject the path of the wicked and follow the righteous path that pleases God (Psalm 1:5-6). Walking in God's way means having a transformed heart and living a life that brings Him delight. May we turn away from the sinful ways of this world and walk the narrow road of salvation and eternal life, offering true worship to God through how we live our lives.

3. Pray to the Lord
As we walk through life, to faithfully guard our hearts and stay on the right path, we must continually meditate on God's Word and devote ourselves to prayer. Only those who regularly examine themselves in the mirror of the Word can renew their hearts and live lives that are pleasing to God (1 Kings 8:59). Similarly, only those who persist in prayer?our spiritual lifeline and the source of God's power?can follow the Lord's goodness and righteousness (1 Samuel 12:23). I sincerely pray that we all turn our hearts toward the Lord, walk in His ways throughout our lives, and live blessed lives that bring Him delight.
