The Lord Who Blesses His Chosen People
(Numbers 6:22-27)
The Lord whom we believe in and trust is truly a good God. He deeply desires that His beloved children dwell in a life within His grace. Today’s passage stands as a testament to God’s divine blessing upon the people of Israel, vividly revealing the immeasurable love and grace of our Lord.

1. The Lord who blesses and keeps.
God is the one who blesses us and keeps us (Numbers 6:24). Just as He chose Abraham, making him into a great nation and making his name great, so too are we able to inherit the blessings of Abraham through Jesus Christ (Genesis 12:2). This divine blessing transforms our very being and enables us to become channels of His grace (Galatians 3:14). To walk in the fullness of this blessing, we must be people of faith who please God, people of the Word, people of the Spirit, people of prayer, and people of gratitude. May we all stand firm in unwavering trust in the Lord and thereby experience the abundant blessings that His unfailing protection provides, guarding us even in the midst of trials and afflictions.

2. The Lord who makes his face shine upon us and is gracious.
God makes His face shine upon us and offers His boundless love and grace (Numbers 6:25). In this context, God's face symbolizes not a physical appearance, but His character, which is His unchanging agape love. This divine light becomes even more powerful when we approach God with gratitude and praise. In the midst of their imprisonment, Paul and Silas gave glory to God through gratitude and praise, and as a result, the prison doors were miraculously opened, sparking a great revival in the Philippian region (Acts 16:25). When we lay down our complaints and approach God with thanksgiving and praise, we will encounter His abundant grace.

3. The Lord who turns his face toward us and give peace.
God turns His face toward us and gives us the blessing of peace (Numbers 6:26). This signifies that God cares for us deeply and watches over us. When we truly realize the great grace that God is watching over us and is with us, we can experience peace, relying upon Him in the midst of any difficulties. This peace is not of this world, but is placed within our hearts when the Lord looks upon us and holds us in His embrace. May we experience the profound peace that only the Lord can give, and may we always live in gratitude and joy, in the name of Jesus Christ.
